How an e-commerce company optimized Apple fleet management for growth

The challenge: A critical crossroad

As a European leader in online home improvement and DIY products, ManoMano manages a diverse IT fleet that includes 275 macOS devices and 10 iOS devices.

For years, the team relied on Jamf as its MDM solution.

To meet operational needs, the team relied heavily on custom scripts and community tools such as Installomator and Nudge.

This approach increased administrative overhead and added complexity to day-to-day management. At the same time, organizational changes led to the departure of internal Jamf experts. The resulting knowledge gap required additional training and upskilling in an already complex environment.

With the contract end date approaching, ManoMano needed a more sustainable path forward.

Iru's integration with our ABM and Okta was completed in less than an hour, and everything worked perfectly.

The solution: A demo that changed direction

After an initial demo, the team immediately saw potential. ManoMano launched a proof of concept to validate the platform under real conditions. The timeline was tight. The first demo took place in June, with the existing contract ending in late September.

Working closely with Iru’s sales and technical teams, including engineer Ryan, ManoMano evaluated integrations, configuration parity, and usability.

The results were decisive:

  • Integration with Apple Business Manager and Okta for SSO and SCIM was completed in under an hour and worked seamlessly.
  • Features that required complex configuration in Jamf, such as pre-filling onboarding fields, were natively supported through Automated Device Enrollment and configured in just a few clicks.
  • The team replicated 96% of their Jamf configuration in just two days.

The POC gave the team confidence that migration was not only feasible, but also straightforward.

The POC was a game-changer: in two days, we had replicated 96% of our Jamf configurations, including the most complex ones.

The migration: Structured and controlled

With leadership alignment and security approval, ManoMano executed the migration in three phases over one month.

Before rollout, the team consulted with Iru to review configurations and fine-tune settings.

Phase 1: Test panel

A volunteer group formed the first wave, allowing IT to validate configurations and scripts in a controlled environment.

Phase 2: Assisted migration

The team hosted four open support sessions over two weeks to help users migrate independently.

Phase 3: Forced migration

One month before contract expiration, the remaining devices were force-deployed to ensure full fleet transition on time.

For iOS devices, ManoMano used the transition as an opportunity to replace certain phones and enroll them directly through Apple Business Manager. Devices that were not previously enrolled were factory reset and added properly. Enrollment through the Iru portal with Okta authentication made user assignment straightforward.

The time savings for the IT team is tangible, with a 20% reduction in administration tasks. Users are also very satisfied.

The results: Greater efficiency, stronger security

The migration was completed ahead of the Jamf contract end date, with more than 95% of devices transferred within 30 days.

A small number of devices experienced minor connection or profile issues, but real-time visibility allowed the IT team to resolve them quickly.

What could have been a setback, losing internal Jamf expertise, ultimately became an opportunity to modernize tooling and simplify operations.

Initial outcomes include:

Time savings: The team estimates a 20% reduction in time spent on administration and support, driven by a simpler interface, reliable updates, and centralized features.

Stronger security: With Vulnerability Management, ManoMano gained full visibility into CVEs across applications. Early analysis showed that approximately 60% of vulnerabilities could now be identified and remediated, significantly strengthening their security posture and supporting ISO 27001 compliance.

High user satisfaction: An internal survey showed a 95% satisfaction rate with onboarding and the Self Service portal. Users especially appreciated the smooth notifications and minimal disruption during migration.

For ManoMano, migrating to Iru was more than a tool replacement. It  was a strategic upgrade that simplified operations, strengthened security, and positioned the IT team to support future growth with confidence.
