Offer Apple beta releases with the Software Update Library Item

In the Software Update Library Item, Apple beta program enrollment can now be offered to end users to opt-in, or a specific program can be enforced without needing to enforce a specific version alongside the enrollment.

Iru now supports three different ways to manage Apple beta program enrollments and version enforcements:

  • At enrollment, using the ADE Library Item
    • Use this option to enforce a beta enrollment and OS upgrade or beta update before the device enrolls into Iru. This is helpful for testing enrollment time configurations on new OS releases.
  • Managed OS
    • Use this option to enforce a beta program enrollment + enforce a specific beta release, together. This simplifies configuration by combining all required settings in one place. Managed OS enforces versions and enrollment whereas the next option is for opt-in or self-driven beta workflows.
  • Software Update Library Item
    • Use this option if you want to test the end user experience of updating or upgrading manually, or if you want to offer one or more beta program enrollments to your end users for opt-in.
